Impact Lech is a forum for the future set amidst the Lech mountains, where leading figures from business, science, politics and culture come together. Against the unique backdrop of the Alps, inspiring dialogues emerge on sustainability, innovation and social responsibility. The combination of modern architecture, intellectual depth and alpine tranquillity makes Impact Lech one of the most exciting events in Lech am Arlberg. It is here that ideas are born and the future is shaped.

Like Lech, this small Walser settlement was inhabited all year round, but was abandoned around 1900. There were once 13 Walser farmsteads, of which only two remain, situated next to the little church dedicated to St Martin. Today, Vorarlberg’s highest Walser settlement, at an altitude of 1,716 metres, is used as an alpine pasture during the summer months.
Guided tours take place several times a day in the old Walser settlement of Bürstegg during the Walser Festival.

Particularly impressive are the spectacular stage sets on the Lake Stage, which outdo one another year after year and became a hallmark of the Bregenz Festival many years ago. Designed to complement the surrounding landscape and the unique lakeside location, they draw the eye to the shore and the performances taking place there during the summer. Particularly noteworthy are the extraordinary stage constructions, such as the tall tower for Richard Wagner’s ‘The Flying Dutchman’ (1989/90) and the giant eye for Giacomo Puccini’s ‘Tosca’ (2007/08), which have gone down in the history of the Bregenz Festival.
The lake stage on the shores of Lake Constance is the largest lake stage in the world. Around 7,000 visitors can be accommodated in the grandstand to attend the Bregenz Festival and other top-class events. Around 185,000 visitors are expected annually, 162,000 of whom hold tickets for the main stage on the lake. The unique atmosphere ensures a very special cultural experience, in which the performances of the actors and musicians naturally take centre stage. For one thing is certain: every year, expectations are sky-high on the world’s largest lake stage.

In Austria, the heart of Europe and one of the world’s most culturally rich countries, the Bregenz Festival takes place every year. Right on the shores of the vast Lake Constance, you can experience a world-famous cultural festival whose lake stage offers a breathtaking view of the Austrian Alps. At the Bregenz Festival, discover a unique blend of nature and culture, entertainment and relaxation, and tradition and modernity. The lakeside venue, home to the unique and world’s largest floating stage, was the setting for an exciting car chase featuring Daniel Craig in the Bond film ‘Quantum of Solace’.
With *La Traviata*, one of Giuseppe Verdi’s most famous works takes centre stage at the 2026 Bregenz Festival. This moving story of love, passion and social conventions will be staged on the imposing lake stage, featuring spectacular set design, emotive music and the unique backdrop of Lake Constance.
From 22 July 2026, visitors can look forward to an impressive new production that will transport them to a world full of emotion, drama and grand opera. Thanks to the ideal location of Lech am Arlberg, you can reach Bregenz in just around an hour and enjoy an unforgettable evening of culture by the lake.
