Bregenz Festival
The world-famous Bregenz Festival is the cultural highlight of the year in Voralberg . This year, the “play on the lake” presents Guiseppe Verdi’s opera “Aida” in 4 acts. You can still go and see the piece until 23.08.09 in Bregenz. Let yourself be enchanted by the impressive lake-stage and the natural backdrop of the Bodensee!
Schubertiade
The most major festival of Schubert’s work, Schubertaide, takes place in Schwarzenberg and Hohenems. You are still able to go and see the works of this world-famous Austrian composer, including “der Erlkönig”, “Die Forelle”, “Am Brunnen vor dem Tore” etc until October.
The Bavarian King's Castles
The Bavarian king’s castles, Linderhof, Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are popular places to visit.
Lech valley
Get acquainted with the traditional trades of bygone years... visit carvings in Elbigenalp or the cheese dairy and the Geierwally open stage.
Ötzidorf (Umhausen, Ötz valley)
The Ötzi and their world! Become familiar with the history of the new Stone Age in a fun way in the open-air archaeological park. There is also much to experience around Ötzidorf: the Stuibenfall (the largest waterfall in Tyrol with a 159m drop), Umhause bathing lake, the sheep’s wool centre and much more.
Innsbruck
Visit the capital city of Tyrol! Meander through the unique old town, surrounded by the Alps. Amaze at Innsbruck’s land mark, the Goldene Dachl (the golden roof), visit the cathedral, palace chapel and city tower. Europe’s highest Alpine zoo is also particular popular for the children with more than 2000 animals. With a visit to the famous Isel mountain, you can gaze at the city from above.
