How to reach Lech/Arlberg?
Arrival and Departure during Wintertime
There are good train connections to Arlberg from Austria, Germany and Switzerland – as well as from Zurich and Innsbruck airports. We advise those coming by car – especially on Saturdays during the high season – to time their arrival so they use the section of the road between Feldkirch and Lech or Imst and Lech before 9.30 am and after 2 pm. On the return journey the period between 10.30 am and 3 pm is the peak time for traffic jams. In winter you need to bear in mind that there will be snow on the roads and winter tyres are compulsory. You are also recommended to take snow chains with you. When there is a heavy covering of snow on the roads, snow chains are compulsory.
